Visitor information
The Castle:
• The castle can only be visited on guided tours led by one of our guides
• Guided tours start on the hour during the castle’s opening hours
• Guided tours are given in Dutch only (but in every room there are written english translations)
• The guided tour of the castle lasts 50 – 60 minutes
• Filming and photography are not permitted in the castle
• Opening hours on public holidays are the same as on Sundays, expect for the guided tour in English
• Coats, bags and umbrellas should be left in the area designated by your guide
• Please bear in mind at all times that De Haar Castle is a historical museum. Visitors are expected to behave appropriately to prevent damage to the collection
• Instructions given by De Haar Castle’s staff should be observed
• Smoking, eating and drinking are not permitted during the guided tour
• Please switch off your mobile phones during the guided tour
• Pets are not permitted in the castle
• During the restoration period, the castle is not accessible to wheelchair users as there are steps leading up to the main entrance and several staircases inside the castle.
The Park:
• The park is open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm, with the exception of our activities, New Year’s Day, 30 April and Christmas Day. Check here for the opening hours.
• Part of the park is accessible to wheelchair users; a toilet for wheelchair users is located close to the entrance to the park
• Photography is permitted in the park but the material may not be used for commercial purposes.
• Dogs are permitted in the park on a lead. Other pets are not permitted.
• Given the many ponds and canals, keep a close eye on your children at all times
• Bicycles, motorbikes and cars are not permitted in the park
• Please respect nature – deposit your litter in the dustbins provided, do not break or damage any attributes in the park and only walk in the areas permitted (the lawns and the paths provided)
• The plants and flowers are there for you to enjoy – please leave them alone.
• Observe any instructions given by De Haar Castle’s staff
Parking:
• Parking is only permitted in the visitor car park opposite the castle grounds
• Visitors need an exit token (€ 3.00, except during our activities) in order to leave the car park. The tokens can be obtained from the ticket office.
